FilterShow All ResultsShow Filtered Results Country United KingdomState / Province LincolnshireCity / Town Category None Found | Senior Subsea EngineerThis position is for an experienced Subsea Engineer who will manage the mechanical group, providing meaningful and informed support and mentoring to a staff of mechanical engineers, designers and draftpersons.
This position will: • Be responsible for the technical integrity of subsea mechanical systems from concept to handover, and during operations where appropriate, i.e., layout, stress analysis, corrosion analysis, marine growth remediation, etc.; • Integrate new technologies and value improving practices where appropriate; • Liaise with Project Engineers, project team leaders and discipline engineers to develop and maintain philosophies, system specifications, datasheets and any other mechanical system documents; • Liaise with vendors and equipment suppliers to ensure mechanical equipment are delivered in line with the projects goals and objectives; • Liaise with third parties and client representatives as required; • Participate with Design and Safety Reviews, HAZOP, HAXIDs, FMECA, Risk Assessments, etc.; • Provide technical support and monitoring during manufacturing, fabrication, assembly and testing of mechanical systems; • Develop and maintain specifications and procedures, where appropriate, for the onshore testing, loadout, installation and commissioning of mechanical systems; • Assess the risks associated with the design, supply and operation of mechanical systems and equipment; • Be responsible for delivering packages of work for engineering activities and technical assurance as agreed with the Project Manager; • Develop and coordinate subsea designs and deliverables for various work packages including work associated with feasibility, conceptual and front-end engineering studies; • Be responsible for planning engineering activities within the overall project schedule, ensuring all activities and/or deliverables are identified; • Assist the Project Manager with planning and resource allocation to meet project goals and objectives. Requirements will include: - At least a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. - A minor in Mettallurgy will be considered an advantage. - More than five years experience in the design of subsea equipment, and designing interfaces with or tools for underwater vehicles. - Demonstrated proficiency in material selection for underwater applications and corrosion consideration, structural analysis, and remediation of marine growth problems. - Advanced experience and knowledge of CAD and solid modeling (AutoCAD and Solidworks). - Familiar with all the mechanical interfaces associated with subsea risers, manifolds, structures and general equipment installation and operations. - Experience associated with offshore installation methods, ROV and diver operations for mechanical equipment. - Experience with feasibility, conceptual and front-end engineering studies. - Experienced significant involvement in a similar role with at least four subsea execution projects, associated with design and delivery of subsea mechanical systems. - Working knowledge of industry standards related to subsea mechanical systems, i.e., API and ISO standards. - Proficiency in French or Portuguese will be considered an asset. - - Must hold United States (US) or United Kingdom (UK) citizenship, or provide current proof of eligibility to work in the US. - Must be able and willing to travel to shipyards and offshore both domestically and internationally, as may be needed, up to forty percent (40%) of the time, averaged over an annual time frame. - Must be able and willing to work independently or in a team environment; with ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people including engineering, scientific, manufacturing and marine operations staff is essential. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
