As a technical expert in your product(s) parametric performance and test systems you will drive improvements on key metrics such as product yield, test cycle time reduction, repair wip reduction and outgoing quality. Responsibilities include driving partners to become self sufficient in terms of test system, troubleshooting, calibration and maintenance.

With help from the service providing teams at RIM Waterloo you will drive resolution of all technical issues impacting partner site manufacturing processes.

Skills and Qualifications
• Extensive experience providing Test or Product support to a high volume manufacturing process.
• A Qualified Electronics Engineer preferably with knowledge of the hardware and software design architecture used in today's PDA and wireless device products.
• Knowledge of some of the following wireless protocol standards, GSM/GPRS/EDGE/CDMA2000/UMTS/WLAN/HSPA and GPS.
• Detailed knowledge of manufacturing test processes used to verify product RF, Power management, processor and acoustics performance.
• An experienced hands on technical problem solver who can work with cross functional groups to execute continuous improvement actions.
• Excellent communication, technical reporting and organizational skills, with an ability to generate new ideas and influence change.
• Ability to execute test changes and drive pilot builds , reporting and developing actions on all identified issues.
• A dynamic individual who can adapt to rapid changes in product technologies, test methodologies and able to support a demanding manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Statistical tools and capable of delivering technical reports to assist in resolution of issues
• Overall understanding of all manufacturing processes.
