The Payroll Specialist is a critical role in the compensation of all employees in this growing mid-size education company. The Payroll Specialist reports directly to the VP of Finance, and is responsible for managing the payroll process which includes collecting paperwork, analyzing and reconciling payroll data, and the payroll execution. This person will ensure quality control and accuracy while managing employee inquiries. On occasion, the Payroll Specialist will assist in Human Resources initiatives.

This is a full-time position; salary will vary based on experience


Requirements:
• Minimum of a Bachelors degree; preferably but not limited to finance
• Experience in Human Resources or processing payroll, wage garnishments, levies, etc.
• Exemplify excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrates Excel proficiency, and willingness to learn more
• Strong organization and demonstrate high integrity with confidential information
• Ability to identify data inconsistencies and investigate to solve
• Ability to operate with purpose, urgency and accuracy with little supervision
• Exhibits high sense of responsibility and sets high standards of performance

Preferred Skills:
• Bilingual; fluent in English and Spanish
• Customer service experience
• Analytical experience with high volume of data
• Working knowledge of relationship databases
