Get the best overseas teaching opportunities during the worst of financial times!
As most of the world’s fiscal health deteriorate with grimmer news of layoffs and rising unemployment- travel and adventure in the exotic East seemed to be a luxurious and farfetched thought. Times like this, who can afford the hefty airlifts, hotels, and rental cars? Hang-on! Korea’s public school teaching positions is your gateway to paid overseas travel, jobs, and adventure. As such despite the current economic turmoil, you are able to enjoy a paid adventure as you create your own silver lining while protecting your income and career.

THE PROGRAM
The program was designed to create a learning milieu for primary & secondary pupils to learn to communicate in English, partly by learning how to think in English with the least possible involvement of Korean language in the learning curb. Objectives include teaching the students how to use the language spontaneously and orally, linking meaning with the target language. To do so a direct co-relation between the concepts and English is established through the use of regalia, pictures, story board, pantomime, and various audio-visual aids provided by the school.

FEATURES
1. Classroom instruction is conducted primarily in the target language.
2. Oral communication skills are built up in a carefully traded progression organized around question-and-answer exchanges between teachers and students in a controlled learning environment.
3. New teaching points are taught through modeling and practice.
4. Concrete vocabulary is taught through demonstration, objects, and pictures; abstract vocabulary is taught by association of ideas.
5. Both speech and listening comprehension are taught.
6. Correct pronunciation and grammar are emphasized

TEAM TEACHING SCHEME
Although, ideally the goal of the program is to carry on the entire English learning experience only in English, the ex-pat teacher does not exclusively do it. As per the ministry’s procedure, each native teacher is paired with various Korean English teachers. The Korean English teacher is in charge primarily to handle issues of classroom management & collaborate with instruction and class preparation. There are also bi-lingual district coordinators who liaise between expat teachers, the school, the district & the board.
